Weekly Round Up June 5th

FOODIE:

I stumbled across this yummy recipe for a corn, peach, and basil burrata Dip while trying to eat up some long weekend leftovers. I’ll definitely be making it again! P.S. I’m obsessed with corn so this time of year if I see a corn recipe, I am all about it!

AT HOME:

When I’m at home, I love to have a candle going. I have a thing for collecting signature scents from some of my favorite places. In Austin, one of my go-to restaurants filled with so many great memories is Junes! You can pick up their signature scent I’m burning this season here.

BUSINESS

June is pride month and if you have never before, I highly recommend you review your website in terms of inclusivity. Clients who don’t see themselves on a website will not feel welcome to send that inquiry. I encourage you to spend some time this month, checking your website and contracts for language like bride/groom pronouns and updating them to be more inclusive. You can check out more tips on our past inclusivity blog post here. Also, consider crafting an inclusivity statement and checking out some resources like these amazing industry ones from Ally Pledge or Unity through Community. In addition, some of my favorite equality-driven brands include Equally Wed and LOVE INC.

BOOKS:

I’m on my 14th book of the year! Fiction is my escapism. I was an avid reader in high school and a couple of years ago as I was refocusing on new hobbies (that weren’t work related) I got back into reading. Over the holiday weekend, I read Swear on This Life by Renée Carlino which was the perfect summer kickoff book.

TRAVEL:

Goodness folks, 16 days on the road in May. As I craft this round up, I’m in route to Engage Luxury Wedding Summits for a week to do education. By now you know I’m a light packer and prefer a carry-on but I’ve got 12 outfits I need to bring along for this week’s events. Could not survive without my travel steamer. After I roll my clothes into my suitcase, the first thing upon arrival is unpacking and steaming. This one heats up quickly and doesn’t spit water everywhere.
