LET’S TALK:
Show Your Value
We are going into the busiest season for event professionals (we see you, Spring), it’s easy to get overwhelmed by your business plans and goals. And while we all know that setting clear boundaries and expectations is crucial for success, let’s be real: it’s a lot easier said than done — that’s why I’ve compiled my top tips for you below!
Did you know if you are booking over 60% of clients you send pricing to, it’s time to raise prices? It’s addicting to get told “yes”, even when we are being undervalued and underpaid for our unique offerings. But the truth is…
Your ideal client is more than just an aspirational customer. You need to have strategy and know how to speak to & attract your ideal clientele and have a workflow that makes it stress-free for all involved. When you can truly get into the mind of the buyer and understand how you can solve their problems… it allows for an incredible impact on conversion & connection with little time or effort!
Using the right imagery can help you get the sale and is worth putting in the time and attention. Our potential clients remember 80% of what they see as opposed to 20% of what they obtain by reading. I am all about giving you the information you need to know so you are empowered to know what works best so you don’t have to question it!
Recently I was talking with a Brand Magic Society member, and he told me he got a contract signed after 17 follow ups! 17!! Most likely, if you are an event professional, you are one of the 10+ vendors your potential client is trying to lock down. They are overwhelmed and trying to absorb all of the details they need to feel confident in pulling the trigger on you as their number one.
The word CONTRACT used to make me cringe for a few reasons. 1. I didn’t want to make things to complicated for my clients 2. I didn’t understand a lick of reading it and felt overwhelmed knowing exactly what I needed
I get it, when you launch your business you are ready to start selling your offerings - all while doing it on a budget. Over the last 18 years, reviewing 1000s of brands, one of the biggest eye sores I notice is the unprofessional email.
When the rhythm of work and client inquiries start accelerating, the brand development tasks on our to-do list get pushed down to the bottom of our priority list. Sad thing is, some very quick tweaks can be costly mistakes from getting additional qualified inquiries coming in to keep up momentum!
Gone are the days where your brand is all about the pretty. It doesn't work anymore. No one wants a plastic, generic version of anything they subscribe to - they want true human authenticity, great customer service and experts to lead them.
We have to remember that our potential clients see us from lots of different angles. Each angle and touch point we weave together tells a much larger story of our brand, its values and our service quality through the sales process and over time.
With a career in graphic design, one of my major pet peeves is poor quality images. It’s such a simple detail on a website or marketing material that many small business owners get wrong. I want to empower you with the language and the understanding of what to look for and what to avoid to set yourself up for success.
One of the most common mistakes I see my clients and small business owners make is lack of consistency between touch points of their visual brand.
I’m sure you have heard of a personality type, Enneagram, Myers & Briggs, etc. Well, there is such a thing as having a brand personality too!
